Representative Pamela A. DeLissio Visits

Roxborough Memorial Hospital’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

Philadelphia, PA (March 31, 2021) – Representative Pamela A. DeLissio visited the Roxborough Memorial Hospital COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic today. Roxborough Memorial Hospital is currently servicing residents in the 1A phase group for COVID-19 vaccinations, including those most at-risk of illness, such as health care workers and persons age 65 and older, and those age 16-64 with high-risk conditions.

Representative DeLissio commented, “I admire the hard work and dedication of the Roxborough Memorial Hospital vaccination team, led by Chief Nursing Officer Kelly Cummings, and the Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing students. They are helping to turn the tide against COVID-19.”

Roxborough Memorial Hospital has been administering 100 vaccines a week in the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic since February 16, 2021.

“ A special thank you to the City of Philadelphia, who have opened mass vaccination clinics throughout the area,” said Cummings. “Roxborough Memorial Hospital will continue to vaccinate quickly and will continue to collaborate with the Pennsylvania Department of Health in the hopes of receiving additional vaccines in Philadelphia County.”

Essential workers and residents 65 years of age and older who meet phase 1A and 1B criteria are receiving calls from their primary care physicians, being scheduled an appointment at the community vaccination program at Roxborough Memorial Hospital. The vaccine allocation is based on each of the primary care offices existing patient panel.

When more appointments do become available, your primary care office will continue to prioritize county residents who are 65 years of age or older as well as eligible essential workers, particularly those who live or work in the local communities most heavily affected by the pandemic.

Information changes daily and the Community are encouraged to frequently check the Philadelphia Department of Health website for COVID-19 and vaccine updates.

Cummings added, “It is critical that those who are at highest risk are protected first, so we ask for the community to have patience. We know everyone wants to be vaccinated quickly, and we are hopeful that our allocation will increase. We are committed to vaccinating as many members of our community as we possibly can with the resources, we have available.”

Roxborough Memorial Hospital strongly advises everyone to continue to take steps to limit the spread of the virus and reduce strain on our health care workers. These actions include wearing a mask when leaving home, limiting interactions with those outside your immediate household, keeping a physical distance of at least six feet apart, avoiding non-essential travel, and getting the COVID-19 vaccine when you are eligible.
