Philadelphia, PA (October 12, 2020) —Roxborough Memorial Hospital announced today the appointment of an experienced health care administrator as its new chief executive officer.

Burton Piper brings more than 22 years of acute care hospital management experience to his new position. Most recently, he owned his own healthcare consulting company assisting hospitals and health systems with operations and strategy services.

Prior to owning his own company, he served for four years as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ephraim McDowell Health in Danville, KY. Before Ephraim McDowell Health, Piper was the Vice President of Ancillary Services of Franciscan Saint Margaret Health in Hammond, IN.

Over the span of his career, Piper served on multiple boards and committees, including the Heart of Kentucky United Way, Catherine McAuley Clinic and the Dyer Chamber of Commerce. He was an elder at Liberty Bible Church in Chesterton, Indiana, and is a Kentucky Colonel, the highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He is also a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol.

Piper earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University School of Pharmacy in Atlanta, GA. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and is also a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)
