Philadelphia, PA (November 9, 2020) – Courtney Waters, MD., a board-certified internist, has joined Roxborough Memorial Hospital’s Primary Care of Roxborough practice.

She comes to Roxborough Memorial Hospital from Dedicated Senior Medical Center, in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to this, Dr. Waters was an attending physician at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, and a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Waters received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, in North Carolina, and completed her internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and an alumni interviewer at Duke University for high school students for possible admissions.

Dr. Waters is well published and has presented at conferences in Denver and Boston. Her research experience ranges from genetic differences in acute functioning at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2002 and investigated receptors in the central nervous system at Wake Forest University in 2001.

“I look forward to establishing a special bond with my patients – so they know they can trust me to help coordinate their care, especially if they need to see other specialists,” said Waters. “My goal is to help prevent or effectively identify and manage clinical conditions that may disrupt a patient’s quality of life. My approach is also very hands-on.”

Dr. Waters is eager to begin engaging with patients at Primary Care of Roxborough. “It’s comforting to know that my patients and I have easy access to the hospital’s top clinical talent and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.”

Dr. Patrick Lenahen, CMO of Roxborough Memorial Hospital added, “We are pleased to welcome Dr. Waters to our medical staff and to Primary Care of Roxborough practice. “She has a wealth of knowledge and her expertise will make her an asset to our already strong family medicine program here at Roxborough Memorial Hospital.

When she’s not with patients or keeping up with medical research, Dr. Waters loves to spend time with her family. Some of her favorite pastimes include cheering on her favorite sports teams, reading, watching movies, traveling to places like Puerto Rico and managing her kids’ swim team.

Dr. Waters is currently accepting new patients at Primary Care of Roxborough, 5458 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (215) 487-1887.
