Roxborough Memorial Hospital Goes Tobacco Free

As part of our commitment to improve the health of everyone living in our community, and to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our employees, Roxborough Memorial Hospital is transitioning to a 100 percent tobacco-free campus effective Monday, July 8, 2013. Employees, patients and families, students, volunteers, contractors and visitors are asked to refrain from using all tobacco products on all property owned by the hospital. In this effort, we're joining many of our neighboring institutions who are all now tobacco-free. Patients who presently use tobacco-products will be provided nicotene-free therapies and counseling during their stay.

In support of our commitment to the community and our employees, on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, Roxborough Memorial Hospital will be hosting a Tobacco-Free Kickoff Event and Health Fair from 4pm to 8pm in the Prime Time Cafe. The Health Federation of Philadelphia along with Smoke Free Philly is partnering with the hospital in presenting this highly informative event. In addition, Roxborough Memorial Hospital will be offering Smoking Cessation Counseling to those community members and employees who are ready to stop or reduce their use of tobacco products. The onsite group counseling comprises four sessions beginning in late July. Space is limited. For more information or to register for the Smoking Cessation Counseling sessions, please call Michael Henrici at 215-487-4442.
