Roxborough Memorial Hospital recognized locally and nationally for value of care
Philadelphia, PA (June 27, 2008) -- In a newly released “best in value” study of 1,500 hospitals in the country’s 100 largest cities, Roxborough Memorial Hospital was rated first among 35 general acute care hospitals in the Philadelphia market, and among the top 100 nationally.
The study was conducted by Data Advantage, LLC, a healthcare information company based in Louisville, KY. Using their Hospital Value Index™, they evaluated each hospital’s quality of care, efficiency and affordability of care, patient satisfaction, and reputation as measured by local public perception.
“In an environment in which consumers – including patients, employers and payers – shoulder an increasing burden of the cost of healthcare, it is important to recognize those hospitals that deliver outstanding value,” said John R. Morrow, a founder of “100 Top Hospitals: Benchmark for Success,” in a press release distributed by Data Advantage where he serves as a senior advisor. “These consumers increasingly want a score that considers everything we publicly know – and they care about – when choosing a hospital. The Hospital Value Index™ provides the first go-to source for that complete analysis.”
“We work hard every day to provide high quality and value of care to our patients,” says Jack Donnelly, Roxborough Memorial’s chief executive officer. “To have an independent organization such as Data Advantage apparently validate our efforts in their study is encouraging to everyone in our hospital family.”
