BACKGROUND CHECKS AND SCREENINGS

Clinical agencies require that the School of Nursing provide a criminal background check (through the Pennsylvania State Police), and a child abuse check (from the Department of Public Welfare) on all students in order to permit participation in the clinical experience.
It is the student's responsibility to send in the necessary forms for the child abuse and criminal background checks.  Please go to the Pennsylvania State Police website, and follow the instructions to obtain your background check.  You can download the child abuse form by clicking on the following link:

All applicants for admission to the School of Nursing are required to submit to drug screening as a condition of enrollment.  Any applicant who tests positive for illegal use of drugs or who refuses to submit to such testing will not be admitted.  Patti Burke, the Director of Recruitment and Admissions and Student Health Nurse will set up your appointment with WorkNet, located in the Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
